SCP Update & Pics

The Silver Cuddle Puddle are now all in the ballpark of 1.5 pounds of incredible energy, confidence, curiosity, and cuddliness. I'm very proud of them for figuring out how to eat wet food and then moving on to dry food, and for figuring out the litterbox -- all with no mom to teach them, and before we let them start spending much time with the other cats!

Aurora was the first at the wet food, first to use the litter box, first to start playing with toys... she's generally the one who works things out and then the rest imitate her. Kate is an incredible cuddle-monster, she just wants to be held and petted and be in contact as much as possible, although she does have her playful moments. Ryu is a bit more reckless an explorer, he was the first to find the way onto the balcony and the first to climb way up on the big kitties' 6-foot cedar tree-trunk scratching post! Zephyr likes people noticing her, whether you're playing with her or petting her or just holding her -- and she poses like a little furry supermodel-wannabe! 'Rora and Ryu and Zeph all love being held and cuddled too, and as often as possible fall asleep against (or on!) a human or each other or Cory -- they're just a little more easily satisfied than Kate!

Less than a week, and they'll be leaving, going to PetSmart for adoption. Knowing some of the frightening things that can happen to cats out there, I'm sending prayers to Bast a half-dozen times a day that they'll go quickly to loving responsible homes where they'll be happy. They're such loving, trusting babies....
