Weights as of today:
Eva: 1 pound, 11.9 ounces
Cory: 1 pound, 1.2 ounces
Now that he’s done teething, Cory’s energy finally seems to be going into growth and exploration.
By the way, I’m typing this on my desktop — with Cory asleep on my right shoulder, pressed against the side of my neck, and Eva on my lap under the keyboard tray, swatting at my hands and wrists while I’m typing.
It amazes me how strong and agile and adventurous Eva is. Nothing is safe.
Cory would, I suspect, be a wonderful companion for someone older and less active, or someone with ongoing health issues. I think he’ll be playful and curious, but he’s less energetic than Eva at roughly this age. He loves to be in contact, if not with me then with Sean, or with Eva; if that isn’t available, he’ll burrow into/under something, preferably a thick soft blanket (I keep losing him, because he likes small warm soft spaces so much), and catnap there. I think he’s going to need contact and affection much more than he’ll need a lot of playtime and activity. In fact, that affectionate nature is going to make it very hard to surrender him, even though I know I have to.
Plus, of course, he does have those gorgeous black-on-black stripes that are becoming more visible all the time. I don’t know what else to call it, because he certainly isn’t gray.
