Aurora > Daisy

I got a wonderful email a little while back, from Aurora’s forever-family. Her name is now Daisy. In part, it says, ‘I still think it’s adorable how you called her and her littermates the “silver cuddle puddle”… She still does that of course, but now it’s with our other cats, who she has formed a strong bond with.’ Also, ‘She is full of energy and… very playful, always getting herself into trouble of some sort.’ They were kind enough to send me a picture of her, as well. She’s grown up into such a beauty — but I think there’s…

Eva has spay surgery!

At the end of August, when Eva was not quite 6 months old, she spent the night at the vet’s for her spay surgery. We wanted to have it done before school started so that Steve could be home with her while she was recovering. She came through the surgery just fine – the vet says she is very very healthy. The people who work at the vet’s office just loved her – they said she is the most loving kitty they ever had! But when Eva woke up from the surgery, she tried to take the stitches out, so…

Scary Kitty Marionette!

Steve has this cute marionette – it looks like a sealpoint Himalayan cat. he got it out the other day, and Eva was terrified of it! Unique and Tira wanted to play with it, but Eva didn’t want to be near it. It has little wooden feet that make clipclop noises on the floor – she especially didn’t like that! She eventually got close enought to sniff it, then decided she REALLY does not like it. She would run from the room, come back a couple minutes later, and if she saw the puppet, even if Steve wasn’t doing anything…

Eva and the Dog

Eva is getting to be such a big girl. She will be 5 months old tomorrow, and seems to have lost most of the kittenish look already . She and Tira and Unique get along quite well. The three of them play together, and a lot of times Eva and Tira play while Unique spectates. Unique has her grumpy moments, when she will hiss at Eva or Tira, but she never tries to hurt them. I think she is just trying to remind everyone that SHE is the queen of this house. The first picture is of Unique and Eva.…

SCP Pics Overload!

Tomorrow morning, the Silver Cuddle Puddle go to the Humane Society for their second vaccinations and deworming, and then go up for adoption. I believe they’re going to the Kingston PetSmart. I’m sending them with 4 copies of a CD of pictures and videos, which will also have a link to this blog. If their new families are willing to let the babycats’ fans know how they’re doing, I’d be delighted, but that’s up to them and what they’re comfortable with. We’re going to miss them very much, they’re all so sweet and loving, although it will be a relief…

SCP Video Overload!

Just caught up on uploading videos… so many, in fact, that instead of trying to embed all of them, I’m just going to give you the links to them! Sorry if that’s inconvenient for anyone… Still working on pics, I have a pile more to sort through and choose the best to resize and post. Cory and the SCP Playing, 12 July – Part 1 Cory and the SCP Playing, 12 July – Part 2 Cory and the SCP Playing, 12 July – Part 3 Cory and the SCP Playing, 12 July – Part 4 Kate the Kuddle Kitten Sleepy…

SCP Update & Pics

The Silver Cuddle Puddle are now all in the ballpark of 1.5 pounds of incredible energy, confidence, curiosity, and cuddliness. I’m very proud of them for figuring out how to eat wet food and then moving on to dry food, and for figuring out the litterbox — all with no mom to teach them, and before we let them start spending much time with the other cats! Aurora was the first at the wet food, first to use the litter box, first to start playing with toys… she’s generally the one who works things out and then the rest imitate…

Eva, growing up

Don’t be fooled by this look of sweet innocence! This young lady is a tough little tiger at heart. Tira, who used to enjoy harassing Unique, is now on the receiving end. Eva and Tira play together quite a lot, but Eva doesn’t quit when Tira cries “uncle”! Eva went back to the vet this past Monday – at 17 weeks, she weighs 5.1 pounds. She now has had all her shots, so will not need to go back until September, to be spayed. Tira giving Eva a bath. Of course, it didn’t take long for this to turn into…

Catching up – The SCP Get a Bath

Oh no! These were uploaded to YouTube over a week ago, and shared on Facebook, but didn’t get posted here!!! The kittens, having had some diarrhea and no comprehension of the litter box, needed to get cleaned up a bit. Kate: Zephyr: Aurora: Ryu: Original post blogged on b2evolution.

The SCP Running Wild!

The Silver Cuddle Puddle – Ryu, Kate, Zephyr, and Aurora – are on the loose, in our messy and cluttered apartment! Cory’s having the time of his life, and the big kitties are fleeing in terror! For the record, the SCP have been here for just about two weeks now, and have shown no sign of illness. They’re pretty much guaranteed to have worms, and granted they could be carrying something that isn’t showing — but it’s a balance because they need to learn more about socialization than they’re going to get locked in the back bedroom alone except for…
