Cory and CBD Oil, Day Eight and vet visit

Monday: All the usual! When Jackie had a shower, he hung around in the window inside the shower with her for a while, after only a very brief drink – guess he was enjoying the peripheral spray, the company, something fascinating outside the window, or some combo! Cory had a vet visit late in the morning. He was amazingly calm about the whole thing. Normally, like most cats, he gets rather stressed, although as long as I’m there it’s usually manageable. We had an ice pack in a towel in his carrier because it’s so hot, and brought his brush…

Cory and CBD Oil, Days Six and Seven

I know, no posts for a couple of days… because there was nothing to say! Because we have a bunch of pics and a bit of video from the vet on Monday, that’ll be up as a separate post right after this one. Saturday: Nothing new to report. He’s doing just fine on 6 units (0.06cc) of buprenorphine twice a day, with a 7kg dose of CBD in salmon oil in the morning along with 5mg of Reactine, and FortiFlora in the evening. No apparent pain, he’s eating and drinking comfortably. He’s curious, alert, with nothing suggesting stress or anxiety.…

Fingers crossed for a quiet day!

Jackie’s back at the dentist to get the work finished that wasn’t quite completed a week ago due to emergency hospital visit for bleeding tongue. Fingers and toes and everything else crossed that today goes smoothly and I don’t get another call to go to the hospital! Just before the alarm, I woke up because of noise outside, and seconds later, a purring bearcat jumped onto my bed right in front of me. We’ve seen him more enthusiastic about breakfast, but he was alert and interested and he ate nearly all of it. An hour later, he demanded the leftovers…

Video x3!

Videos of: Cory drinking water with a feeding syringe, Cory and my hairbrush, and a new version of Cory getting his kibble. All are from June 9. Leaving these uploading overnight worked, even though our Internet connection keeps cutting out during the day.

Cory didn’t get the memo

Sick? What? He’s been having a really good day. Jackie was up ahead of me, as she often is, and opened the balcony door for the cats to go out. Instead of waiting for me and getting carried out to Jackie for his kibble routine, Cory was already outside when I got up and went to the kitchen. He was wildly energetic and enthusiastic about his breakfast, and afterwards, he was still hyper. He wanted up in my closet, on the shelf, where the old oversized cat carrier is… he climbed on top of the carrier, too. Then he wanted down,…

Coming back

Wow, it has been a really long time since I used this blog. Between Cheezland and, intermittently, Facebook, it’s been easier to just share kitty news elsewhere. But since Cory-Bear just had a not-yet-confirmed diagnosis of cancer, which means that there’s an invisible clock ticking and we have no idea how long it will take for it to run down… I imagine there are going to be lots of updates. And honestly, posting everything in two different places is going to at best be annoying, and if things get hectic, might not be possible. This way, anyone interested in following…

Trick Vs The Tail

Wow, I got so busy with writing projects and kitty toys and computer problems and Cheezland and with my new major project for SNKI (you can see it here: http://snkitails.wordpress.com/ ) that I haven’t had a chance to get back to finishing the repair work on THIS blog. (My Categories are no longer nested, I see, among other things. *sigh* ) However, for your amusement, here’s my insane Trick and his arch-enemy: his own tail. Trick’s greatest foe, for the ten years or so he’s been living with us, has always been that black snakey thing. It follows him everywhere, always…

Back to Normal

The purrkids are definitely relieved to have Kama out of here so life can return to its normal patterns. Freya happily reclaimed her spot last night beside Jackie on the futon, in Jackie’s room which was off-limits while Kama was here. Trick’s aggression is fading, and most of the gushifuds from supper and breakfast disappeared like it should. And teh Cory-Bear, well… apparently I exist for the sake of, every time he yells, dropping everything and going to him to pick him up and cuddle him. A tad inconvenient when I’m working on cat toys, since it means a lot…

Kama… Playing?!?!

Okay, as if we needed any further proof of how resilient cats are (not that they should ever HAVE to be, of course)… There’s not much I can add that the video doesn’t say for itself. Stamina still low, of course, and he certainly hasn’t gotten back to a healthy weight overnight, and yet, he’s looking just a bit less gaunt, somehow. Just watch the video. I was on the edge of crying while I was taping it. It takes so little to make all the difference in the world for a living spirit in need… In other news… Kama’s…
